In 2026 I spent several months and a few thousand euros building a marketplace. It was well made. It had a working product, legal pages in two languages, payments, ads. It never made a single euro.
The reason wasn't the execution. It was that the business model earned about €13 per match, once, with no repeat revenue — which meant it needed roughly 350 matches a month to replace a salary, in a city where perhaps a couple of thousand people a month look for that service at all.
All of that was knowable before I started. Nobody had done the arithmetic, including me.
That's the whole reason this site exists. Not to tell you your idea is exciting — you already think that. To tell you what it costs, how many hours it eats, how long before money arrives, and whether those numbers clear the target you actually need.
Every business model here is researched individually: startup capital, weekly hours, weeks to first income, net margin, saturation, realistic monthly ceiling. Every business page lists the sources its figures come from, so you can check them yourself.
They are orders of magnitude for European markets, not guarantees. Where a figure is uncertain, the range is wide on purpose — a false precision would be worse than an honest span.
